Letter from Fr. Ray dated April 8, 2020
Dear Friends,
I am sure every member of Resurrection is as concerned as I am about the continued spread of the Coronavirus and its effect on our lives, families, friends and church. Remember that the Lord Jesus is in our midst now and always. As He touched lives, healed the sick and ministered with love and merciful compassion throughout the Gospels, know that He will continue to do so for us.
This outbreak affords us an opportunity to love and reach out in new ways to family, friends and neighbors. Know that you live in the shelter of the Most High. “My refuge and my Fortress; my God, in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:102). If you know someone who is lonely, sick or depressed, call them and encourage them with a message of God’s hope. If you are aware of church parishioners who are shut-in, sick or alone, please call the church office at 843-281-6421 with the person’s name so we can check in on them. Please be patient. This crisis will end. We all greatly miss the regular Holy Eucharist. Be sure we shall resume the usual celebrations as soon as possible. Currently everything remains cancelled until further notice.
The Diocese will also continue to have Masses online at facebook.com/DioceseChas and YouTube.com/DioceseChas. Your ongoing financial support is really important. People will need our help and services even more in the future. Everything we do depends on the generosity of our church members. Contributions may be through the following methods:
* Mailing it to our parish office (204 Heritage Road, Loris, SC 29569);
* Using our Online Giving portal to contribute electronically, which can be found under the “Online Giving” link on our website.
Please continue praying and offering acts of charity for the end of the Coronavirus outbreak. Let us pray for those suffering with this disease, healing for the affected and protection and safety for all, guidance and wisdom for our leaders, strength and protection for Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Professionals, and relief for all those affected by the social and economic impact of this outbreak.
Peace,
Fr. Ray
